A.C.T Lighting's Education Program
|
Here at A.C.T Lighting,
we have a strong commitment to training and education in the use of our
products.
This has particular
importance when it comes to console training, however it permeates throughout
everything we do.
Talking users through
simple programming issues over the phone, giving them a better understanding
of the theory behind the practical application, right the way through
to 2 day training courses held either at our offices or on site.
In general, the courses
we run are with small groups of people or 1 to 1 rather than having a
classroom environment. This allows students to feel more comfortable and
under less pressure.
Console training tends
to fall into three categories, for convenience we seperate these into
different levels.
|
|
|
|
Level One: gives trainees an introduction to the principles and basics
of working with the console. This course is ideal for people wanting to
know what the console can offer or for those who will not necessarily
be programming.
Level Two: is full
blown programmer training and is aimed at existing console programmers
and lighting designers. Level Three: is for system designers and installers,
covering advanced console interfacing and customization.

grandMA Training
|
Being one of
the premier lighting control consoles, grandMA training is a regular
occurrence here at A.C.T Lighting, Inc. On average, we run classes
every week introducing programmers and designers to the virtually
limitless possibilities that the grandMA range offers.
Level 2 training
is the most popular training course that we run on the grandMA console.
This normally consists of two groups of trainees with a console
for each group (no more than two people per group is our strong
recommendation). Training days normally start at 9.00am and finish
around 4.00pm.

|
|
|
|
There is a
charge for grandMA training at our offices
in
Agoura Hills or our offices in Hackensack.
Level 2 Training includes everything taught
in Level 1.

Please note that grandMA
training is not for everyone!
The grandMA is a top of the range lighting
control console, and our training sessions are geared toward existing
conventional & moving light programmers who have, at minimum, a basic
understanding of the issues involved.
If you are new to the world of programming,
particularly programming moving lights, you may find it helpful to take
our course on the Frog range of consoles. This is a comprehensive, full-day
course that builds a solid foundation for a wide range of designers, programmers,
and operators, with a total charge of $300.
If you would like to sign up for a course just fill out our
training application.
