The Network Signal
Processor, more commonly known as the NSP, that can increase your
channel count (up to 64 universes) without impacting on the performance
of your grandMA console. An NSP translates Ethernet data from the
grandMA, grandMA light, grandMA replay unit or grandMA ultra-light and
turns it into 4 universes of locally processed DMX data.
The way it works is that any
console from the grandMA range console becomes a server for managing
information and no longer outputs DMX. You can then add as many NSPs as
you like, which all process their DMX locally. So for a 12 universe
system 3 NSPs would be required; for a 20 universe system 5 would be
required etc. In addition if all you want to do is expand your
4-universe grandMA so that it can run 8 universes you can simply attach
a single NSP and then output 4 universes from the grandMA and 4 from
the NSP without the need for an expansion chip.
