GRANDMA GETS KUDOS AT CONCLUSION OF BON JOVI TOUR September 30, 2006
Los Angeles, September 30, 2006

Bon Jovi’s “Have A Nice Day” tour may have ended but the grandMA, which controlled all the low-resolution and HD video and all the lighting effects, is still getting kudos. A.C.T. Lighting is the exclusive North American distributor of the grandMA.

“I couldn’t imagine pulling off the tour with any other console,” says programmer Patrick Brannon. “I’ve been using the grandMA for three years and just warmed right up to it. The more you use it the more you have the ability to adapt it to whatever show you’re running. The grandMA is user friendly and versatile; you can set up the console to meet whatever needs you have for video.”

Bon Jovi’s “Have A Nice Day Tour” was the first to carry an HD video system with it for the duration of the tour. “The show was very video intensive with a moving HD screen,” notes Brannon. The visual package evolved and changed as the tour passed from season to season moving from arenas in winter to domed stadiums to open-air stadiums in summer.

“With the logistics of live effects and cuing and rolling the whole video control, it could be very difficult getting your head around things,” Brannon reports. “The directory would cut shots while I’d select the camera on our main grandMA. Using the console made the shows a lot tighter and more accurate. It was a great experience for me. I really enjoyed it.”

Artfag handled production design for the tour with Doug (“Spike”) Brant the lighting and stage designer.

“The ArtFags (Spike & JustIN) and Pat Brannon have been using the grandMA for several years. I believe that, at first, the grandMA helped them fulfill their design goals, but as the grandMA software has grown more powerful, I believe that the grandMA has actually influenced their designs. It is always an honor to be involved with real pros,” commented Bob Gordon, President and CEO of A.C.T Lighting.

MA Lighting is exclusively distributed by A.C.T Lighting.
