Product Education Manager – Burbank, California or Hackensack, New Jersey

ACT Lighting is seeking a self-motivated Product Education Manager to help us continue growing a world class education program. As a growing company with a constantly evolving product offering we need a robust, efficient, and far-reaching education program focused on helping our customers achieve success with our products. You will be working with the sales, marketing, and technical support teams to build upon our existing portfolio of education resources reaching our customers by all avenues including in-person classes, online classes, webinars, and more.

This is a long-term salaried full-time position with a complete benefits package (Health, Dental, Vision, and 401K). The qualified candidate must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and be able to work across multiple teams in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop and maintain an evolving strategic education plan setting key targets
  • Regularly asses key targets and modify plans accordingly
  • Build a yearly schedule of education opportunities
  • In-person events
  • Online live events
  • Online content release dates
  • Build a pool of qualified educators
  • Onboard candidates to meet our standards
  • Staff education events per the schedule
  • Manage staff time and oversee their work
  • Manage the evolution of the LMS - ACT Academy
  • Create content
  • Add features and expand the resources offered
  • Manage and participate in the editing and publishing of education content
  • Participate in videos, webinars, in-person classes, and online classes
  • Coordinate the usage of the annual education budget as set by management
  • Manage the training requests sent by customers, the sales team, and technical team
  • Ensure the sales, technical services, and marketing teams have access to ongoing education catered to their needs
  • Work with the technical services team and sales team to ensure education plan aligns with the needs of the market
  • Work with the marketing team to promote education opportunities and help keep the education websites updated with relevant content
  • Create surveys and compile feedback to constantly shape the education resources we offer
  • Regularly travel to ACT events

Additional Responsibilities

  • Periodically participate in technical support cases as part of your own ongoing learning
  • Periodically assist the sales and marketing teams in product demos as needed

Qualifications

  • Education degree or equivalent experience in a related position
  • Background in education, event planning, and online content management
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to fill multiple roles simultaneously
  • A passion for helping people
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficiency in computer technology (Mac, Windows, Microsoft Office, video editing, etc.)
  • Must be able to regularly travel throughout the US and Canada (additional international travel may be required once in a while)
  • Previous experience in the theatre and entertainment industry is desirable

Technical Support - Burbank, California

We are the exclusive distributor of MA Lighting Technology entertainment lighting control products used for the biggest concerts, TV shows, and architectural installations in the world. We are seeking full-time, motivated individual to join our team of software technical support specialists.

We need an in-house product specialist for a long-term position of supporting the vendors and end users of top tier MA Lighting products in the Architectural, Concert, and Theatrical industries. Your tasks will entail supporting customers, testing equipment, and beta testing new software. We are looking for a highly productive professional who will be part of what makes us the leading entertainment support company in the industry.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assess software questions via Email and telephone during business hours
  • Prepare equipment for sales and demos
  • Evaluate and beta test new software
  • Provide after-hours emergency support by telephone and Email
  • Assist with the creation of product tutorials for customers and sales team
  • Offer suggestions for software and process improvements

  • Degree in Technology, Computer Science, or related field

    Service Technician - Burbank, California

    A.C.T Lighting, Inc. is a leading importer and distributor of cutting edge lighting products. The company provides superior customer service and value to all of its clients.

    We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team full-time. The qualified candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and be able to work within a team in a fast paced environment.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Test, troubleshoot, and repair fixtures both under supervision and independently.
    • Deliver prompt and courteous communication of equipment status to customers.
    • Prep new equipment to be sold as per company guidelines.
    • Provide product customer support.
    • Assist sales team with technical information and product demonstrations as necessary.
    • Travel to perform onsite service calls and attend tradeshows as required.
    • Prepare and keep records pertaining to labor, equipment, and materials used in assigned projects.

    Required Qualifications

    • Minimum 1 year of production entertainment industry experience.
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in the use, and maintenance of moving lights and hazers.
    • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, and technical documents.
    • MS Office Suite proficiency (Excel, and Word)

    Desired Qualifications

    • Previous experience in the use, and maintenance of Clay Pay, Ayrton, DMC, Robert Juliat products.

    Physical requirements

    • Ability to lift up to 75 Lbs.
    • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
